Overview

This role is the operational owner of the company’s billing process. You will build and maintain a professional, well-documented, and as-automated-as-possible income/billing workflow. The position reports to the Head of Accounting and works closely with the Financial Controller and the Revenue Operations Manager to ensure strong control across the entire revenue stream.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and carry out monthly invoicing, including validating supporting documentation, generating invoices, and sending them on time.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries related to invoices.
  • Own the end-to-end billing process: document it, identify manual steps, and drive automation improvements in collaboration with product, finance, and IT.
  • Consolidate billing-related tasks currently spread across accounting, an administrative role, and parts of support and sales, taking clear operational ownership.
  • Maintain and improve integrations between the billing system and adjacent systems (CRM, ERP, subscription management).
  • Partner with the Financial Controller and Head of Accounting on reconciliation, accruals/periodization, and revenue reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Operations Manager on commercial data—prices, contract terms, and ARR movements—to ensure invoices reflect customer agreements.

Requirements

  • Enjoy combining hands-on execution with process development.
  • Strong interest in process improvement: comfortable with well-functioning routines, with a desire to make them better.
  • Relevant higher education in finance, administration, or similar. Relevant practical experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Experience with invoicing and customer accounts receivable (or similar)—preferably in SaaS or another subscription-based business.
  • Curiosity about technology and ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
  • Interest in using AI and automation to streamline work processes and identify opportunities for automation where others may see routine.
  • Proficiency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with invoicing or subscription systems.
  • Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of data flows between systems.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Understanding of revenue recognition and what it means in practice.

Personal Qualifications

  • Structured and detail-oriented.
  • Enjoys cross-functional dialogue with customers and colleagues.
  • Focus on identifying and replacing manual steps with rules and/or integrations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive terms.
  • Good pension and insurance arrangements.
  • Flexible setup with the possibility of working from home.
