Billing Specialist - Parcel/Freight

Overview

This role involves participating in the Revenue and Billing function, working closely with teams such as Operations, Customer Excellence, and Implementations. The position requires regular interaction with leadership and demands an independent working style suited to a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex client invoices for freight and parcel, performing data analytics on large datasets using advanced Excel functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables to ensure accurate billing.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Excellence, Operations, and Implementations teams during new customer onboarding to understand workflows and rate card applications.
• Build strong customer relationships to resolve disputes and facilitate timely payments.
• Document and update billing procedures regularly, recommending and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and data management.
• Provide management with key performance indicators and leverage data analysis to offer insights into billing issues, revenue trends, and operational variances.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests related to billing.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of 3PL operations and data flow between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Order Management Systems (OMS).
• Bachelor’s degree in business or data analytics, or 5 years of experience in omnichannel, supply chain, parcel, or logistics-related industries preferred.
• Direct experience with 3PL billing and processes is highly desirable.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and complex formulas.
• Experience with Freshdesk, Salesforce, and NetSuite is a plus.
• Proven analytical skills to handle large data sets, prepare invoices, identify discrepancies, and investigate billing issues.
• Strong communication skills, effective collaboration, time management, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated, organized, strategic thinker with keen attention to detail.

Location

The position is based at the organization's headquarters in Atlanta, with facilities across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
