Overview

This role involves timely and accurate preparation of invoices, revenue recognition, and accounting process and controls. The Billing Specialist provides top-level customer support and analytical problem-solving, working closely with internal and external customers and other members of the Accounting team to resolve invoicing questions and related issues.

Note: This position is remote.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments to accurately prepare, adjust, and verify pre-bill documents before invoicing.
  • Enter data accurately into systems to modify projects.
  • Assist Accounting with proper revenue recognition, validate sales tax on invoices, and support related accounting controls.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet tight timelines.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with changing reporting needs.
  • Proactively and independently resolve complex issues using analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with stakeholders at all levels internally and with clients externally.
  • Maintain advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Apply knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (desktop and network), network storage, and archival technologies.
  • Handle additional special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Any combination equivalent to:
    • At least 2 years of experience in a Billing position, or an AA Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Billing and/or Project Accounting experience.
  • Experience in legal billing/professional services.
