Overview
This role involves processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling clients’ balance sheet accounts, entering general ledger postings and adjusting journal entries, preparing bank and credit card statements, and editing monthly cash flows. Additional responsibilities include recording and entering payroll, interacting with vendors, banking relationships, and clients, responding to daily client or partner requests, and processing payroll including gross-up and timesheet calculations using ADP or Paychex.
The position also requires preparing and filing state and use tax returns and property tax forms, preparing consolidated financial statements, performing intercompany reconciliations (Japanese parent - U.S. subsidiaries), and preparing financial statements, cash flow statements, income statements, operational reports, and forms 1096, 1099, and 1042. Coordination with clients for SOS filings, annual reports, registered agent, and business license renewals is expected, along with completing special projects as assigned by partners.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related experience
- Extensive bookkeeping experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Excellent client service orientation in both Japanese and English (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and clients with accuracy and dedication
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other Microsoft Office programs
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and some knowledge of Bill.com
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $55,000 to $60,000, finalized based on experience and local cost of labor
