Bookkeeper

Overview

A fast-growing tax planning, filing, and bookkeeping firm serving physician clients across all 50 states is seeking a Bookkeeping Manager. This fully remote role involves managing the full set of books for a portfolio of physician clients, ensuring financial records are accurate and current to support tax planning efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full bookkeeping lifecycle for multiple physician clients, including S-corps, LLCs, and sole proprietors
• Perform monthly reconciliations, transaction categorization, and month-end close
• Use QuickBooks Online and Gusto daily to track owner draws, distributions, payroll entries, and quarterly estimated tax payments
• Collaborate with the bookkeeping team to maintain consistency and quality across client accounts
• Communicate with clients to gather documentation, clarify transactions, and maintain workflow
• Work closely with the tax team to provide clean, current financials for tax planning
• Identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, and opportunities to improve bookkeeping accuracy

Requirements

• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online is mandatory
• Proven experience managing books for small businesses, especially S-corps, LLCs, and 1099 contractors
• Familiarity with payroll platforms; experience with Gusto is a plus
• Strong understanding of how bookkeeping supports tax preparation and planning (CPA certification not required)
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness
• Self-directed and able to manage workload independently across multiple clients
• Problem-solving mindset with relentless follow-through to ensure timely monthly closes and reconciliations
• Willingness to adapt and take on varied tasks in a fast-paced, startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with physician clients or in a healthcare-related financial environment is advantageous
