Overview
A remote bookkeeping role is available for detail-oriented financial professionals who excel in creating order, visibility, and integrity for growing businesses. This position requires a systems thinker who prioritizes accuracy and understands the strategic implications behind financial data. The role focuses on delivering financial clarity and ensuring the business operates on a predictable financial foundation. This is a performance-driven position, not a data-entry job.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial visibility by delivering high-quality financial statements and proactive budget oversight to guide client decision-making.
- Manage weekly and monthly financial operations, including reconciliations, payables, and receivables.
- Ensure compliance and mitigate risks by executing payroll, tax filings, and 1099s with complete accuracy while maintaining audit-ready records.
- Manage QuickBooks Online (QBO) and e-commerce accounting tasks to reduce client workload.
- Utilize AI tools (such as Dext and Bill.com) and AI-driven reporting to automate reconciliations, integrate financial systems, and enhance reporting speed without compromising accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years managing full-cycle bookkeeping independently.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and related integrations (e.g., Stripe, Shopify, Gusto).
- Experience owning month-end close processes without supervision.
- Industry experience with e-commerce, agencies, or small to medium-sized businesses.
- Ability to work as a strategic operator focused on precision and problem-solving.
- Professionalism in handling sensitive financial data with discretion.
- Strong anticipatory skills to identify cash flow trends and risks proactively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Client-facing experience with ownership of the full financial cycle.
- Comfort with technology and automated workflows over manual processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Position is remote within the U.S. (excluding California, Colorado, Montana, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania).
- Engagement as a 1099 contractor.
- Starting pay rate of $20 per hour.
- Monthly payment based on contracted hours; hours are not guaranteed.
