Overview

A financial technology organization is seeking a Business Analyst to join their Acquisitions team. This role focuses on improving underwriting and pricing strategies, optimizing acquisition approaches, and developing data-driven financial strategies to enhance credit risk management and profitability. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and communication of strategies to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to improve underwriting and pricing strategies
  • Utilize AI-driven tools for data analysis
  • Optimize acquisition strategies based on customer behavior and market conditions
  • Develop actionable financial strategies to improve credit risk and profitability
  • Design and implement market tests to understand customer behavior and inform growth investments
  • Collaborate with product, data science, engineering, and capital markets teams to bring strategies to market
  • Communicate strategies effectively to senior leadership

Requirements

  • 2 to 7 years of experience in a highly analytical role
  • Proven ability to solve problems end-to-end: framing questions, forming hypotheses, analyzing data, and communicating results
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field with strong academic performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with credit cards or consumer lending products
  • Experience scaling a business in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Expertise in SQL or Python
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or Cursor

Compensation & Benefits

  • Target starting base salary range for Principal Analyst: $125,000 - $143,000
  • Target starting base salary range for Business Analyst Manager (Individual Contributor): $142,000 - $173,000
