Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Analyst – Rebate Forecasting to join their PBM Financial Forecasting team. This individual contributor role focuses on forecasting and underwriting rebates, serving as a subject-matter expert on rebate economics, and supporting the development of competitive and compliant rebate guarantees for prospective and existing clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop rebate forecasts used in RFPs, renewals, market checks, and strategic pricing events.
- Analyze utilization data, formulary strategies, and rebate contract structures to project earned rebates and client guarantees.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Account Services, Underwriting, Trade, Legal, Finance, Proposals, and Clinical teams to align assumptions and pricing decisions.
- Oversee finalization of rebate guarantees, including documentation and support for contractual execution.
- Provide clear explanations of forecast drivers, risks, and variances to internal stakeholders and, when needed, external clients, consultants, and attorneys.
- Perform advanced Excel-based modeling to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets and communicate insights.
- Ensure forecasts are accurate, transparent, and audit-ready by documenting assumptions and known limitations.
- Share knowledge, mentor junior analysts, and support continuous process improvement within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare analytics, PBM rebate forecasting, underwriting support, or financial modeling.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain complex financial concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PBM underwriting, rebate forecasting, or healthcare contracting.
- Familiarity with formulary strategies, rebate guarantees, and specialty drug dynamics.
- Prior experience supporting pricing events, RFPs, or client negotiations.
- Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Typical pay range: $46,988.00 - $102,000.00 annually.
- Actual salary offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
- Eligible for bonus, commission, or short-term incentive programs in addition to base pay.
