Overview

This is a 12-month remote contract position based in Austin, TX, with the possibility of extension. The role involves providing senior-level consultative and functional support for the CAPPS Financials Accounts Payable (AP) module.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the CAPPS Accounts Payable module, including coordination, production support, issue resolution, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Lead business process improvements, change management, testing (functional and UAT), and enhancements related to the AP module.
  • Manage integrations with other CAPPS modules and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Provide training and user support, reporting, analytics, release management, and patch releases.
  • Configure and set up AP module components such as vendor management, voucher entry and processing, voucher matching (2-way, 3-way, 4-way), AP Workbench, batch EDI voucher processing, Excel voucher uploader, single and multi-vendor voucher processing, invoice processing, exception handling, withholding setup, payment cancellation and reissue, CAPPS to USAS voucher processing, and CAPPS HX recycle browser.
  • Perform month-end and year-end AP activities and manage AP integration with Purchasing, General Ledger, Asset Management, and Commitment Control.
  • Configure CAPPS USAS T-Codes and system codes, perform open liability reconciliation, and utilize AP reporting and inquiry tools.
  • Manage security roles and workflow approvals, and integrate with Cash Receipts, Purchasing, Asset Management, and Project Costing.
  • Utilize technical skills including Application Designer (records, fields, pages, components), SQR and BI Publisher report customization, SQL proficiency, and PeopleSoft security with State of Texas multitenancy requirements.
  • Plan, design, develop, implement, support, and maintain IT security measures to safeguard system information.
  • Monitor all CAPPS AP batch jobs by tracking schedules, monitoring execution, detecting and responding to failures, validating output, managing dependencies, tuning performance, documenting processes, communicating, escalating issues, and ensuring compliance when schedules change.
  • Use tools and environments such as PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM), Change Assistant, Fluid UI, lifecycle management, Elasticsearch/Search Framework, and data migration and compare reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, gather requirements for break/fix or system enhancements, document and test (UAT, regression), and manage incidents using systems like ServiceNow and BOSSDesk.
  • Communicate effectively with policy personnel, other analysts, over 100 agencies, and Managed Services Tier 3 vendors.
  • Understand and account for interdependencies on legacy systems such as USAS and TINS.
  • Provide structured cross-training to support junior analysts and comprehensive training and support to agency personnel.
  • Participate in project-level coordination including module expansions, fiscal year-end processes, legislative changes, federal mandates, and third-party integrations.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience with CAPPS Financials Accounts Payable module.
  • Functional expertise in AP module configuration, voucher processing, vendor management, and related processes.
  • Technical proficiency with PeopleSoft tools including Application Designer, SQR, BI Publisher, SQL, and security.
  • Experience monitoring batch jobs and managing job schedules and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple agencies and vendors.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems (USAS, TINS) and their integration.
  • Experience with incident management tools such as ServiceNow and BOSSDesk.
  • Ability to provide training and support to users and junior analysts.
