Client Success Manager — Accounting, Tax & Advisory Operations (Remote)

Overview

This role involves managing client success within accounting, tax, and advisory operations for a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients. The position requires delivering technical excellence and ensuring an exceptional client experience by overseeing client onboarding, technical review, and retention processes. The Client Success Manager will coordinate workflow among bookkeeping, tax preparation, and advisory teams to maintain schedules and standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships throughout onboarding, ongoing service, and renewal or upsell discussions.
• Review accounting and tax deliverables prior to client delivery to identify and correct errors.
• Lead weekly workflow cadence to ensure timely and accurate accounting and tax production.
• Coordinate with Bookkeepers, Tax Preparers, and Tax Advisors to keep accounts on schedule.
• Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enable smooth operations without constant leadership intervention.
• Report on client retention, satisfaction, and workflow health directly to executive leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting, tax, or advisory roles, preferably with small and mid-sized businesses.
• CPA designation preferred, or Enrolled Agent certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Proven experience managing client relationships directly, beyond back-office preparation tasks.
• Ability to serve as a technical reviewer and coach for less-experienced team members.
• Strong organizational skills capable of managing 40–60+ client accounts effectively.
• Familiarity with business frameworks such as Profit First, Built to Sell, and Traction is a strong asset.
• Excellent communication skills with a client-first approach.
