Overview

The organization is seeking a Cloud Finops Analyst to support a large-scale cloud financial management initiative. This role helps make FinOps resources—including dashboards, reports, and cost insights—accessible and consumable across a large enterprise environment of approximately 12,000 internal users.

Responsibilities focus on managing, organizing, validating, and maintaining dashboard and reporting assets within Apptio Cloudability and proprietary client platforms. The analyst will help ensure cloud financial information is accurate, consistently organized, and understandable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and curate assets within Cloudability, including dashboards, views, and reports.
  • Build and maintain a catalog of dashboards created by the team, keeping it current as dashboards are added, changed, or retired.
  • Design, review, and implement an information hierarchy and organizational structure for both Cloudability and proprietary client dashboards.
  • Design and implement a validation strategy to validate the dashboard library, including accuracy, ownership, and naming conventions.
  • Validate Cloudability metrics and dimensions against source billing and cluster data, and document their lineage.
  • Test new Cloudability features and releases, including visualizations, metrics, and dimensions; write test cases and report regressions with clear evidence.
  • Drive features, fixes, and remediation across all supported and cataloged dashboards, tracking issues through to resolution.
  • Implement and drive adoption of UI changes, including new metrics and dimensions, to support new features and evolving business requirements.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Cloudability.
  • Working knowledge of AWS or GCP billing data and Kubernetes cost allocation.
  • Strong understanding of FinOps concepts such as allocation, efficiency, and tagging.
  • Experience building and governing BI dashboards, including naming conventions and information architecture.
  • Experience automating governance checks, using either:
    • code (for example the Cloudability API, Python, or scheduled validation jobs), or
    • no-code and low-code platforms (for example Power Automate, Workato, Make, or n8n).
  • Proven ability to own both testing and implementation end to end, from validating a change to rolling it out and seeing it through to resolution.
  • Methodical testing mindset, with experience in UAT or QA of SaaS tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
  • SQL skills for cross-checking platform numbers against raw data.
  • Experience supporting a large enterprise with many stakeholders.
