Overview

This role supports commercial finance activities within the Clinical Research Group. The position involves leading cross-functional processes, contributors, and timelines to ensure clinical trial contract proposals and/or budget modifications are completed accurately throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer information provided via request for proposal (RFP) and/or request for contract modifications to ensure it has adequate information for budget preparation.
  • Lead calls with cross-functional teams in multiple time zones to discuss customer requirements and define a clear strategy for the proposal or contract modification.
  • Drive client delivery of simultaneous proposals and/or contract modifications for clinical trials under tight client deadlines.
  • Manage multiple budget proposals / contract modifications simultaneously with a cross-functional international team in multiple time zones.
  • Manage the proposal bid and budget negotiation process, collaborating with internal contributors to analyze client requirements and internal data.
  • Determine resource and budget allocations for project plans and study strategies.
  • Prepare and enter budgets into a bidding system, ensuring accurate information and timely delivery according to strict deadlines and client requests.
  • Finalize client-facing documents after securing internal department approvals, including quality control edits for accuracy, proper data formatting, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure proposals and contract modifications concisely and accurately reflect strategy discussions, meet customer needs, and communicate value proposition and critical success factors.
  • Develop and maintain a positive client relationship through the budget negotiation or contract modification process, securing client agreement and timely contract execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; no prior experience required
  • Preferred fields of study: Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Effective time management to handle multiple tasks while delivering high quality results
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable communicating in written and oral English with internal and external partners
  • Able to work independently to accomplish tasks and achieve goals, identify and prioritize work, make decisions, and take ownership of projects
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to changing circumstances
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; expect intensive use of Excel with advanced formulas daily
  • Confidence to handle critical information and make sound recommendations
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a proven understanding of financial budgeting principles
