Controller

Overview

A leading fraud prevention and AML compliance platform is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to lead its accounting team. The platform leverages device intelligence, behavior biometrics, machine learning, and AI to prevent identity fraud, payment fraud, account takeovers, and social engineering scams. The organization serves over 300 banks, retailers, and fintechs worldwide.

Location

• Remote-first position
• Open to candidates located in the US or Canada
• Work from any location including home, beach, mountain, or cafe

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including all subsidiaries
• Manage and successfully run audits for the parent company and subsidiaries
• Prepare and manage financial reporting for the company and quarterly board materials
• Assist with regular reporting for regulators and investors
• Enhance and implement financial systems to support company growth and uninterrupted service
• Implement and strengthen internal controls and processes to protect company assets
• Support cross-functional teams in key decisions related to spending, profitability, ROI, and process improvements
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in accounting and/or auditing
• Experience managing a small, high-performing team
• Experience working at or providing services to a SaaS company
• In-depth understanding of GAAP
• Experience with financial system implementations
• CPA certification is required
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences including C-suite executives
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
