Controller, Outsourced Accounting (Nonprofit)

Overview

An established and growing accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Controller to join their Outsourced Accounting & Fractional CFO Services team. This role involves supporting 8–10 nonprofit clients as their trusted financial leader, combining accounting, consulting, and leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting and accounting operations for nonprofit clients
• Act as a strategic advisor to executive teams and boards
• Lead and mentor an accounting team delivering outsourced services
• Ensure accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Implement strong financial processes, internal controls, and reporting systems
• Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, and tax preparation

Requirements

• 5–10 years of accounting experience in public or private sectors
• Strong nonprofit accounting and financial reporting expertise
• Experience managing teams and multiple client engagements
• CPA or MBA preferred
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $112,000 – $155,000 per year (excluding bonus potential)
