Overview
A financial technology organization is seeking a Senior Credit Manager to support their Cash Advance business, a key and established product line. This individual contributor role involves working at the intersection of credit policy, model development, and product strategy to maintain and enhance credit programs while supporting new product experimentation. The position offers high visibility and requires collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and refine credit models and underwriting policies for the Cash Advance product to ensure quality and pace as the program evolves.
- Collaborate on the design and evaluation of new product constructs and pricing strategies, applying rigorous credit analysis to test-and-learn initiatives.
- Integrate user/product perspectives with quantitative credit policy to help move new initiatives from concept to scalable strategies.
- Communicate complex analyses clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions without formal authority.
- Partner closely with data science, product, marketing, and other credit and risk teams to align initiatives with overall business strategy.
- Define and structure new analytical questions in ambiguous situations, driving projects forward with urgency and independent judgment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in credit risk, data analytics, or a related quantitative field, preferably within consumer lending or fintech.
- Strong communication skills, capable of deep analytical work and clear presentation to executive audiences.
- Proven ability to influence outcomes and build trust with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners without direct reporting authority.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable working in ambiguous environments and independently driving projects.
- Creative and action-oriented mindset, with a preference for prototyping, testing, and iterating rather than waiting for fully defined briefs.
- Willingness to learn new tools and methods and stay current with trends in credit, lending, and artificial intelligence.
