Overview

This role involves owning the systems and workflows that power the finance organization as it scales globally. The position sits at the center of the finance technology portfolio, spanning:

  • NetSuite (ERP core)
  • Zip (procurement intake and approvals)
  • Ramp and Brex (spend and card programs)
  • Metronome (usage-based billing)

You will shape and prioritize the roadmap across this portfolio, driving changes from discovery through deployment in an agile, high-growth environment. The role blends advisory leadership with hands-on execution in the finance systems tool stack.

Responsibilities

  • Act as product owner for one or more core finance business process areas (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and/or record-to-report) and the systems that support them.
    • Run discovery with process owners
    • Define target-state process and system design
    • Own the roadmap and measure success based on value delivered and accuracy
  • Lead complex domain problems where there is no established configuration pattern.
    • Examples include international expansion involving entity, currency, tax, and statutory complexity, or new product offerings requiring coordinated design of pricing, billing model, and revenue recognition treatment
  • Develop and maintain a holistic architecture strategy for the finance applications ecosystem.
    • Define system boundaries
    • Own how data moves between systems
    • Plan short-, mid-, and long-term needs
    • Coordinate integrations and handoffs with adjacent enterprise systems, including Workday and Salesforce
  • Identify and eliminate manual work by replacing spreadsheets, manual data entry, and email-based approvals with core configuration, automated workflows, and integrations.
    • Evaluate new functionality within existing tools and/or new tooling for best fit
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize NetSuite.
    • Depending on process ownership, own spend and revenue system workflows feeding the ledger, including:
      • Zip intake and approvals
      • Ramp and Brex card programs and expenses
      • Metronome usage ingestion and downstream invoicing logic
      • Future tooling for advanced revenue recognition
    • Understand, advise, and execute on data flows and upstream data sources that revenue reporting depends on
  • Identify, test, and implement practical AI and automation opportunities within owned processes, in a controlled manner with clear impact (time savings and reduction of manual output).
  • Own quality across applications by using a lightweight SDLC approach to balance accuracy and agility.
    • Partner with leadership on best practices
    • Serve as mentor and escalation point for peers across Finance and Business Technology on the portfolio’s hardest design questions

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a finance systems professional, including 5+ years of direct NetSuite experience.
    • Demonstrated complex configuration depth
    • Experience supporting a global, multi-entity and multi-currency finance organization
  • Product owner or product manager experience in at least one core finance business process area (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and/or record-to-report).
    • Deep domain experience including discovery with process owners, target-state process design, proposing tradeoffs or workarounds, and owning a roadmap through delivery
    • Familiarity with adjacent areas matters more than equal depth across all three
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technology audiences.
    • Adapt messaging based on audience
    • Build alignment across cross-functional teams
    • Effectively say no to requests and explain why
    • Experience mentoring peers and setting technical standards, with others escalating to you on hard problems
  • Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous, high-stakes process problems without an existing playbook.
    • High autonomy with judgment about when to pull in others for high-impact decisions
    • Examples include international expansion and multi-entity or multi-currency complexity, or new product offerings requiring coordinated design of pricing, billing model, and revenue recognition treatment
  • Deep understanding of leading and emerging trends in SaaS finance applications and architecture, including where automation and AI drive innovation.
  • Direct experience implementing best practices around change management, regression and UAT planning, segregation of duties, and regulatory requirements while increasing efficiencies.
