Credit Controller

Overview

The organization is seeking a Credit Controller contractor to join the Accounts Receivable team for a 6-month contract. The role focuses on supporting healthy cash flow and delivering a strong customer experience through proactive credit control, accurate account management, and resolution of payment and billing queries.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, building positive relationships and helping ensure payments are received on time while reducing aged debt
• Take ownership of customer queries and work with colleagues across the business to achieve timely and accurate resolutions
• Maintain accurate customer accounts by carrying out reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and keeping records up to date
• Raise invoices and credit notes where required to support smooth billing processes and resolve payment-related issues
• Identify opportunities to improve ways of working, contribute to process enhancements, and support shared Accounts Receivable team goals

Requirements

• Strong experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role, with the confidence to manage customer accounts and deliver excellent service
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate with customers and colleagues to resolve queries
• Proactive and organised approach, able to prioritise workloads, follow processes, and manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and maintain accurate financial records
• Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to share ideas and contribute to more efficient ways of working

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to complex billing and disputes
• NetSuite experience is desirable but not essential
• Intermediate MS Excel skills
