Overview

A Defense Program Finance Analyst position is available to support the Defense Sector finance team, focusing on the Defense Service Centers. This role involves financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support operations across a broad portfolio of facilities and specialty service centers.

The Defense Service Center team manages financial allocation and operational support for 78 facilities across the U.S. and 45 specialty service centers, including laboratories, cost pools, and PMO functions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end financial operations for assigned service centers covering various facilities and specialty service centers.
  • Collaborate with accounting teams, program managers, and functional leaders to ensure accurate and compliant financial allocations.
  • Prepare financial forecasts, standard reports, and ad hoc analyses to aid decision-making.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of cost and financial performance drivers.
  • Lead the monthly close process for assigned service centers, including validation and certification of allocations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and reporting against Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts; communicate key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support start-up and maintenance activities for service centers and facilities, ensuring proper process execution.
  • Analyze actual financials for accuracy, identify errors, and ensure timely corrections.
  • Act as a liaison between program teams and cross-functional partners to perform financial research and resolve issues.
  • Participate in new business and proposal support activities as needed.
  • Provide strategic solutions to optimize operational efficiency and cost design.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, plus 4+ years of experience in finance operations or financial planning (additional relevant experience may substitute for degree).
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost/financial data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to identify financial drivers and perform both high-level and detailed analyses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting clear, data-supported conclusions.
  • U.S. citizenship required with ability to obtain security clearance as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting service centers and prior Sector FP&A experience.
  • Familiarity with Costpoint, Cognos, Oracle Analytics, or similar financial systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities, including what-if analysis and scenario building.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: $73,450.00 - $132,775.00 (salary offers consider job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable agreements).
