Overview

This individual contributor role is based remotely in North America.

The organization is seeking a Director Analyst with expertise in enterprise growth and cost. The role focuses on helping organizations achieve enterprise value through growth strategies, cost optimization, strategic margin management, and investment prioritization. This advisory work is intended to support CFOs and senior finance leaders in driving cost-efficient growth.

Responsibilities

  • Create impactful, thought-provoking, actionable, timely, objective, and trusted insights for advanced CFOs and senior finance leaders on how to drive enterprise value through strategic choices related to growth, cost, margins, capital investment, and AI spending.
  • Translate cutting-edge insights into practical teachings that help CFOs and other senior finance leaders improve business performance, strengthen financial decision-making, and transform the finance function.
  • Develop new insights and ideas through thought leadership; deliver compelling, actionable approaches to client needs and requests that accelerate client ability to act.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify the root cause of client barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to move strategy forward.
  • Establish and demonstrate thought leadership in setting Insights positions across a team of analysts.
  • Bring independent, provocative insights to senior leaders that can influence the direction of a research agenda.
  • Research, analyze, and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights.
  • Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to designated content areas through virtual or face-to-face interactions.
  • Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for on-stage and off-stage work for industry and professional association conferences, client briefings, and other events.
  • Support Business and Technology Insights (BTI) and Sales through sales support and serving as a voice of the market to help Insights teams create content and drive engagement with clients.
  • Provide high-quality, timely content peer review.
  • Build credibility as a finance expert by representing insights, methodology, and strategy.
  • Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions; collaborate effectively with peers in the Insights community.
  • Identify research process improvements or develop new processes that improve team and BTI service delivery.
  • Mentor and coach more junior team members.
  • Maintain a client-centric approach by seeking frequent opportunities for clients to engage with insights through interactions and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience, including at least 5 years working in enterprise financial strategy addressing areas such as cost optimization, organizational structure, and M&A.
  • Subject matter expertise in enterprise growth, cost, margins, and investments to support CFOs and senior finance leaders in making better strategic decisions.
  • Experience using and implementing AI in financial strategy workflows.
  • Experience working with FP&A systems and/or Treasury Management Software.
  • Ability to continuously deepen expertise across enterprise economics, including cost and productivity, margin performance, capital deployment, and investment decisions, while building AI expertise to support thought leadership.
  • Experience engaging senior finance leaders within these expertise areas to help solve complex challenges and improve business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Excellence in research and writing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including analytical and presentation skills to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks, and defending conclusions to address client challenges.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts concisely and clearly.
  • Comfortable presenting at large and small speaking engagements.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area, including interplay across the market.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a multicultural, global team environment.
  • Ability to navigate highly matrixed environments and learn quickly.
  • Ability to represent research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base salary range: $148,000 USD - $175,500 USD.
  • Base salary may vary within the range, or be above or below based on factors including education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location.
  • In addition to base salary, eligible employees participate in either:
    • an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or
    • a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
