Overview
This role involves applying extensive financial reporting expertise to the development and evaluation of AI models focused on financial statement preparation and disclosure. The position supports the integration of institutional finance knowledge into AI systems to ensure outputs meet rigorous accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Design realistic financial statement and disclosure tasks based on actual reporting cycles
- Develop evaluation rubrics that define correct GAAP/IFRS presentation, classification, and disclosure, including judgment on disclosure requirements
- Review AI-generated financial statements, consolidations, and note disclosures for compliance, completeness, and internal consistency
- Create reference statement sets and disclosure checklists to serve as evaluation standards
- Identify outputs that are technically acceptable but non-compliant or under-disclosed, providing precise explanations of gaps
Requirements
- 5 to 8+ years of experience in external/SEC reporting, financial reporting, or audit with a strong focus on reporting
- Comprehensive knowledge of a full set of financial statements and the disclosure requirements behind every line item
- Deep expertise in US GAAP or IFRS, ideally fluent in both
- CPA, ACA/ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred but not required

- Fully remote, part-time, and flexible work arrangements

- Contract or monthly retainer structures
Compensation
- Hourly rates from $80 to $200, depending on expertise, scope, and impact
- Exceptional or highly specialized expertise may command higher rates
- Ongoing engagements typically compensated via monthly retainer rather than hourly billing
