Overview

This role sits on a small finance team and provides direct, hands-on partnership with the organization’s go-to-market function. The position focuses on measuring growth ROI, supporting deal structure and pricing, driving budgeting and headcount planning, and improving forecasting and reporting workflows.

Roles are available in San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote.

Responsibilities

Finance partner to go-to-market

  • Own reporting on the ROI of growth investments by channel, campaign, and segment so the team knows what’s working and what to cut
  • Run Deal Desk: serve as the finance liaison on pricing, deal structure, and non-standard terms; be the person go-to-market pulls in before a deal gets committed
  • Build and maintain customer and growth economics that inform acquisition investment decisions
  • Join go-to-market meetings and translate questions into analysis, providing recommendations (not just spreadsheets)

Run the budget cycle with the teams

  • Partner with department leads through quarterly budget and headcount planning: collect inputs, pressure-test them, and translate them into the plan
  • Track spend against budget, surface drift early, and flag items requiring decisions
  • Build analysis behind headcount, vendor, and resourcing calls (including payback, cost-to-serve, and build-vs-buy)

Support forecasting and reporting

  • Support the monthly forecast cycle: pull and reconcile actuals, build variance analysis, and draft commentary explaining what moved and why
  • Maintain the schedules and drivers that feed the company operating model, working alongside the Director of FP&A
  • Help assemble monthly and quarterly reporting packages for leadership, the board, and lenders

Automate recurring work

  • Replace recurring manual work with durable solutions (AI workflows, queries, dashboards, templates) so future cycles take minutes
  • Apply rigor to automated output: reconcile, stress test, and identify failure points before others surface issues

Requirements

  • 0–2 years in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, Big 4, or a comparably analytical role (exceptional new grads welcome)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, or another quantitative field
  • Ability to build financial models from a blank sheet; advanced Excel or Google Sheets is table stakes
  • Hands-on exposure to a real budgeting or forecasting cycle
  • AI is already the default in how you work, paired with judgment: an instinct for when a machine-generated answer is wrong and discipline to check before forwarding
  • Clear writing: able to compress a 40-tab model into three sentences a founder can act on
  • Extreme attention to detail and comfort operating in ambiguity at speed (priorities change faster than the plan does)
  • Based in the US

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL (ability to pull your own data instead of filing a ticket)
  • Python or comparable scripting for analysis and automation
  • BI and analytics tooling (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Hex) and modern planning tools (Pigment, Cube, Aleph, NetSuite)
  • Fintech, banking, or lending background

Compensation & Benefits

  • $80,000–$100,000 base salary, plus full benefits
  • Title and compensation are commensurate with experience, performance in the interview, and location

Location
