Overview

A financial services organization is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and financial analysis efforts. This role supports senior leadership with actionable insights to align financial goals with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, strategic thinking ability, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts
  • Develop and maintain financial models for strategic planning and scenario analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of revenue and expense forecasts
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior leadership
  • Analyze variances between actuals, budget, and forecast; provide actionable recommendations
  • Deliver insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with department heads to understand operational drivers and align financial plans
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, providing financial guidance and support
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to streamline FP&A processes and enhance reporting capabilities
  • Implement best practices in financial planning and analysis tools and methodologies
  • Drive automation and efficiency in data collection and reporting
  • Improve FP&A time to close by implementing process efficiencies
  • Manage and mentor FP&A analysts, fostering continuous improvement
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality analysis
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA/CFA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with financial software and experience with software implementations
  • Proactive and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • High standards of accuracy and precision
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Creative, driven, and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Optimistic attitude and intellectual curiosity
  • Cost accounting experience preferred
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods working on a computer

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $101,000 - $120,000 per year, varying based on location, skills, and experience
  • Potential incentive and bonus opportunities

Location

  • Remote roles available in AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WV
  • Employees within a 90-minute radius of the Oak Brook, IL headquarters must work in-office at least 4 days per month (10 am to 2 pm), including one Monday or Friday
  • Relocation is not provided
  • Support specialist positions are exempt from the in-office requirement
