Overview
The Finance Operational Analyst II provides financial support for critical processes including the annual budget, periodic forecasts, and the month-end close cycle. This role involves preparing financial analyses, data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting. The analyst collects information from various departments to build models that offer insight into underlying business dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research, and forecasts
- Compile and prepare reports using tables, graphs, and charts to convey information effectively
- Collect and synthesize data from multiple areas to build models and create written presentations
- Develop and prepare analytical and statistical reports supporting business activities
- Interpret, analyze, and implement complex business strategies
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting, including variance analysis and sensitivity testing
- Lead special financial and business-related studies to support project objectives
- Conduct analysis of alternatives, recommendations, and research from multiple sources
- Support functional and cross-functional projects and implement process improvements
- Articulate the impact of analysis, modeling, and business decision support on key financial measures such as Gross Profit, Operating Margin, Days on Hand (DOH), and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Conceptualize, complete, and present analysis to support management decisions, forecasts, and initiatives
- Act as an internal consultant and interact with appropriate management levels
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Experience
- 3-5 years of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) experience required
- Strategic planning, financial, and operations/business background preferred but not required

- Active listening skills to identify important facts and relevant information
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical skills (numerical and verbal)
- Solid business acumen
- Experience with financial modeling
- Budgeting and forecasting experience is a plus
- Self-driven and highly motivated

- Excellent research and analysis skills
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
- Experience with TM1 Financial Reporting & Planning tools is a plus
- Good judgment required, especially when direct supervision is limited
Work Environment
- This is a remote position where the associate will work from their primary residence
- Remote associates may work from the office but are not required to do so regularly
- Occasional travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations may be required for meetings or business reasons
Physical Environment and Demands
- Work is primarily performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Prolonged sitting at a desk or computer is expected
- Regular use of hands for typing, handling office equipment, and communication
- Occasional stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required
