Responsibilities

  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
  • When conducting variance analysis, go beyond stating that a number is higher or lower; identify operational or financial drivers behind the movement (when information allows) and explain whether the difference appears temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Strong numerical reasoning, attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to checking financial information.
  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating the source, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities responsibly, communicate progress when appropriate, and collaborate through shared digital tools while maintaining standards for accuracy and documentation.
