Financial Analyst

Overview

This role involves financial analysis that combines strong spreadsheet work with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand both what changed and why it may matter.

Work includes both routine reporting and forward-looking analysis. Some tasks align with regular financial cycles, while others require comparing scenarios, investigating variances, or connecting financial outcomes to the operating activity behind them.

Financial models and schedules should remain understandable after the immediate task is complete through clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.

Responsibilities

• Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
• Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
• Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
• Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.

Requirements

• Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
• Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Organized documentation habits and appreciation for traceable financial analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Financial analysis and financial modeling experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Data analysis experience and comfort reviewing financial statements.
• Scenario analysis experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $68,000–$76,000 per year
