Financial Analyst

Overview

The organization is seeking a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to provide professional-level financial and operational support to the Finance department. This role supports financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting by analyzing and interpreting financial and operational data, preparing clear information for decision-making, and helping ensure accurate, efficient financial operations.

Candidates may be considered for either level based on education, relevant experience, and qualifications. The scope of assignments, level of responsibility, and final job level will be determined based on the selected candidate’s background and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support financial and operational activities within the Finance department
• Analyze financial and operational data, identify relevant patterns or variances, and interpret results to inform planning and management decisions
• Contribute to budgeting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities; help ensure information is accurate and presented clearly
• Apply appropriate judgment when reviewing data, completing assignments, and addressing questions related to financial operations
• Use analytical tools, including SQL where applicable, to support the review of medical and other operational data
• Help maintain efficient processes and reliable financial information
• Collaborate with relevant colleagues and complete other duties consistent with experience and assigned level

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field
• Financial Analyst level: at least one year of related experience required; two years preferred
• Senior Financial Analyst level: at least two years of related experience required; preferably in a healthcare budgeting environment
• Experience with analyzing medical data using SQL is preferred (two years preferred)
• Experience with the preparation and production of IRS forms is also preferred
• Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills and careful attention to accuracy
• Ability to organize and interpret financial and operational information
• Ability to communicate findings clearly and work productively with colleagues
• Ability to manage assigned work with appropriate independence while maintaining efficiency and a commitment to organizational excellence
