Overview
This role involves supporting the financial planning and analysis functions within an organization focused on energy management software. The Financial Analyst will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational efficiency improvements to help drive the company’s mission of accelerating the transition to clean energy.
Responsibilities
- Lead operating expense forecasting, budgeting, and monthly financial reviews for various departments
- Develop or expand proficiency in NetSuite and Planful financial systems
- Analyze and report on headcount and operating expense line items
- Build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and business partners
- Manage, track, and report all headcount-related activity
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and actionable recommendations to leadership
- Review preliminary month-end results and propose journal entries to ensure accuracy
- Maintain reporting templates on a monthly basis
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles, including understanding P&Ls, accruals, reclassifications, and GAAP
- Understanding of the three financial statements and their interrelationships
- Strong foundational Excel skills with a desire to learn more
- Analytical mindset focused on balancing opportunities and risks and creating related forecasts
- Critical and curious approach to tasks and processes, always seeking improvements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite and Planful or other FP&A tools is a significant plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $68,747 to $85,933 USD plus bonus
