Overview

This role is a Financial Analyst position with a remote, full-time schedule within the United States.

Salary: $67,000-$75,000 per year

The position combines spreadsheet work with careful review of assumptions, variances, and financial trends. You will help stakeholders understand what changed, why it changed, and why it may matter.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
  • Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, explaining meaningful variances.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
  • Ensure assumptions are visible rather than hidden inside calculations.
  • Present alternative scenarios when a single estimate would create a false sense of precision, especially when outcomes depend on variables that may change.

Requirements

  • Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
  • Comfort learning company-specific reporting definitions, schedules, and planning processes.
  • Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including investigating sources, documenting limitations, and avoiding presenting uncertain results as more precise than they are.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining steady follow-through and organized communication in a remote setting.
