Overview
This role is part of the fee accounting team within the Managed Services department, responsible for fee accounting for public housing authorities. The team ensures clients' financials are accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
- Run required reports using Housing Manager or MRI software
- Enter budget data into Housing Manager or MRI software
- Analyze client data to prepare annual budgets for each program type
- Review client data to determine the need for budget revisions
- Prepare budget revisions as needed
- Prepare annual operating subsidy submissions
- Prepare, review, and submit VMS reports in compliance with HUD requirements and deadlines
- Complete VMS reconciliations by analyzing program data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy between internal records and HUD reporting
- Prepare and submit additional HUD reports and required filings accurately and on time
- Maintain supporting documentation for budgets, VMS reporting, reconciliations, and HUD submissions for audit and client review
- Cross-train in other departmental functions as needed
- Monitor HUD guidance and pronouncements to remain current on client requirements
Requirements
- Knowledge and/or experience in financial and accounting principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams
- Effective oral and written communication skills with accountants and management
- Ability to work independently and under deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
- High degree of dependability, motivation, and flexibility
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree is a plus
