Overview

This role involves working as a Financial Analyst on remote, full-time work for candidates located in the United States. The position focuses on building spreadsheet-based analysis and carefully reviewing assumptions, variances, and financial trends—helping stakeholders understand both what changed and why it matters.

The work emphasizes variance analysis beyond simply noting whether numbers are higher or lower. Where the information allows, you will help identify operational or financial drivers and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods to ensure work is understandable and reusable.
  • Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
  • Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
  • Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
  • Help improve recurring financial reporting processes while maintaining appropriate review controls.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
  • Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
  • Clear written communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
  • Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analysis and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with scenario analysis.
  • Skills in data analysis and financial reporting.
