Overview
This role supports budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of business performance. The position is designed for someone who handles financial information carefully and can translate results into practical business insights.
Variance analysis should go beyond explaining whether numbers are higher or lower. Where information allows, you will identify operational or financial drivers behind movement and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
The work includes both routine reporting aligned with regular financial cycles and forward-looking analysis such as comparing scenarios, investigating variances, and connecting financial results to underlying operating activity.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting by organizing assumptions, updating schedules, and checking calculations.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Review source information and validate calculations before financial analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Ensure financial models and schedules remain understandable after completion by using clear labels, documented assumptions, reasonable checks, and organized formulas.
Qualifications
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
- Clear written communication skills, including the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
- Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
- Ability to compare results, identify material variances, and explain the drivers behind a financial change.
