Overview
This role is for a Financial Analyst supporting stakeholders by reviewing financial assumptions, analyzing variances, and identifying trends that matter for decision-making.
You will move between financial statements, spreadsheet schedules, operating metrics, and forecast assumptions during the same week. Core expectations include:
- Calculations are checked
- Assumptions are clear
- Conclusions are communicated in a way that supports decisions
Responsibilities
- Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
- Compare actual results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, and explain meaningful variances.
- Support KPI reporting by connecting financial measures with relevant operational context.
- Review source information and validate calculations before analysis is distributed or relied upon.
- Perform trend, sensitivity, and scenario analysis to show how changing assumptions may affect expected results.
- Communicate financial findings in concise business language, including risks, limitations, and areas requiring follow-up.
- Identify operational or financial drivers behind variance movements (when information allows), and explain whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.
Qualifications
- Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
- Interest in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forward-looking business planning.
- Clear written communication skills and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
- Ability to make forecasting assumptions visible rather than hidden within calculations; comfortable presenting alternative scenarios when a single estimate could create a false sense of precision.
- Good judgment when financial information is incomplete or inconsistent, including the ability to investigate the source, document limitations, and avoid overstating uncertain results.
- Reliable remote communication and self-management, including organizing work, responding to reasonable update requests, and using shared digital tools to keep responsibilities and handoffs clear.
