Financial Analyst

Overview

This Financial Analyst role supports planning and informed decision-making through dependable financial analysis and clear communication of performance drivers.

You will maintain reporting, compare actual results against expectations, and help present analysis in a way that makes key assumptions visible—particularly when forecasting involves uncertainty.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring financial reports, management summaries, and ad hoc analyses for stakeholder review.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet-based financial models for planning, comparison, and scenario analysis.
• Document model logic, assumptions, and analytical methods so work remains understandable and reusable.
• Reconcile information across schedules or reports and investigate material inconsistencies.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, and other financial or operating measures to identify performance drivers.
• Compare actual financial results with budgets, forecasts, and prior periods and explain meaningful variances.
• Support variance analysis beyond stating whether numbers are higher or lower, including identifying drivers and whether differences appear temporary, recurring, assumption-driven, or in need of further review.

Requirements

• Organized documentation habits and an appreciation for traceable financial analysis.
• Willingness to question inconsistent inputs and resolve or escalate discrepancies before completing an analysis.
• Clear written communication and the ability to summarize financial information for non-specialist stakeholders.
• Comfort using Microsoft Excel or comparable spreadsheet software for calculations and organized financial schedules.
• Ability to manage assigned priorities independently while collaborating through digital tools in a remote environment.
