Overview

The organization is seeking an analyst to join the team and support one of its business areas as an analytical partner. You will work closely with a senior team member to build models and reporting that business partners rely on, with exposure to functional leaders and the executive team.

Responsibilities are assigned based on strengths and where the business needs the most support. Prior experience in a specific function is not required; the role prioritizes analytical ability, curiosity about how the business operates, and the speed at which you learn.

Strategic Finance is the finance business partnering team. The team works with leaders of major functions on decisions including growth pace, investment direction, planning structure, and whether plans are working.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain models that drive planning for your area, including headcount, capacity, and spend.
  • Own recurring reporting and monthly variance analysis, and write the first draft of the narrative behind the numbers.
  • Partner with the business on spend tracking and review, and flag issues early.
  • Build metrics and dashboards to assess whether a function is becoming more efficient.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis for the executive team.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Approximately 1 to 3 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
  • Strong Excel skills and solid financial fundamentals, including the ability to sanity check your output.
  • Clear written communication, including the ability to explain numbers to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn quickly and perform at a level aligned with where you will be in two years.
  • A working style that supports automating repeatable parts of the job.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, or SQL is a plus (support and training will be provided if you have the instinct but have not used the tools).
  • Meaningful overlap with Pacific time is required.
  • Open to occasional travel for team and company on-sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AI tools, BI tools, or SQL.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting pay depends on job-related factors, including location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, and PTO.
  • For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey or Washington, the base salary hiring range is $80,000 to $110,000 per year plus an equity grant.
  • For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range is $80,000 to $110,000 per year plus an equity grant.
  • PTO: unlimited PTO.
