Overview
This role supports one of the organization’s business areas by building the models and reporting that business partners rely on. You will work closely with a senior team member and partner with functional leaders and the executive team.
The analyst position is part of a finance business partnering group responsible for decisions such as how fast to grow, where to invest, what a plan should look like, and whether it is working.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain models that drive planning for your assigned area, including headcount, capacity, and spend.
- Own recurring reporting and monthly variance analysis, and write the first draft of the narrative behind the numbers.
- Partner with the business on spend tracking and review; flag issues that appear off before others notice.
- Build metrics and dashboards to determine whether functions are becoming more efficient.
- Perform ad hoc analysis for the executive team.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Roughly 1 to 3 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
- Strong Excel skills and solid financial fundamentals, including the instinct to sanity-check your own output.
- Clear written communication, including the ability to explain numbers to people who do not work in finance.
- “High slope” learning mindset—interest in where you will be in two years as much as where you are now.
- Working style that emphasizes automating repeatable tasks.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, or SQL is a plus (the organization will help build these if you have the instinct but not the tools).
- Meaningful overlap with Pacific time (the team is West Coast).
- Open to occasional travel for team and company on-sites.

Remote working from home is flexible if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, & WA.

- Due to operational policies, the organization is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. Candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate will be considered.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay depends on job-related factors including location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, and PTO.
- For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington: base salary hiring range is $80,000 to $110,000 per year plus an equity grant.
- For roles based in New York: base salary hiring range is $80,000 to $110,000 per year plus an equity grant.
