Overview

This role involves running financial planning and analysis for the Wellz team in Brazil. You will own the mechanics behind monthly close, forecasting, and the annual budget cycle—turning raw numbers into decisions leadership can act on. The role is operating-focused (not a reporting-only position) and includes extending existing AI-supported workflows used by the finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly Close

    • Review and correct agent-drafted P&L narratives comparing Actual vs. Budget vs. Forecast vs. Prior Year across:
      • Revenue
      • Net revenue
      • Margin
      • Engagement KPIs
    • Own the version presented in the monthly package to leadership.
  • Expense Close

    • Lead the monthly expense close.
    • Direct reconciliation of actuals vs. budget across suppliers and payroll to surface variances.
    • Validate reconciliation outputs and determine which issues are escalated to leadership.
  • Executive Reporting

    • Own the monthly result presented through the organization’s corporate FP&A chain.
    • Personally defend the closing materials reviewed with the Wellz CEO before they are issued.
  • Quarterly Forecast

    • Own the Wellz portion of the quarterly forecast cycle.
    • Coordinate with agents that pre-populate templates from inputs provided by Revenue and Finance Operations.
    • Coordinate missing data, correct errors, and defend the numbers internally before submission.
  • Annual Budget

    • Serve as the analytical engine for the annual budget process on the cost and FP&A side.
    • Direct the model and stress-test scenarios run by agents.
    • Prepare materials defending the plan up the finance chain, including building process checklists for future years.
  • Value Management

    • Translate financial performance into proactive recommendations, identifying where margin, cost, or investment decisions need to change before being requested.
  • Wellbeing mindset and collaboration

    • Contribute to a supportive environment that encourages taking care of wellbeing and work-life balance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or a similar analytical finance role, ideally in a fast-growing or scale-up environment.
  • AI-driven mindset: Proven ability to leverage AI to work faster (e.g., building models, catching errors, drafting first-pass analysis). Using and extending the existing AI agent toolkit is a core requirement.
  • Financial modeling: Strong hands-on ability to build and maintain spreadsheets models under time pressure without outsourcing the work.
  • Executive communication: Ability to translate complex P&Ls into clear, actionable narratives for senior leadership within minutes.
  • Operating discipline: Ability to execute fixed monthly and quarterly cadences with precision, while formalizing playbooks where documented processes don’t yet exist.
  • High-stakes comfort: Demonstrated accountability to senior stakeholders across two entities (Wellz and corporate finance) under tight deadlines with zero margin for last-minute surprises.
  • Language: Fluent English is mandatory for regular interfacing with the global finance organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • None specified.
