Overview
This role is for a hands-on Fractional CFO to take ownership of end-to-end financial operations for a profitable DTC pet products brand. Work is approximately 1–2 days per week (about 1–2 days a week approx. as needed), ongoing, as a contractor.
The organization generates $50M+ in annual revenue and is scaling to $100M+. Responsibilities include running cash flow, managing the monthly close process, overseeing payments and tax compliance, budgeting, and owning credit lines that fund growth.
Responsibilities

- Cash flow and forecasting (keep a 13-week cash flow current weekly, including before the Monday leadership meeting)
- Monthly close process (close the books on time with an outside bookkeeper)
- Payments management (contractor pay, supplier and freight invoices, software/card expenses, and affiliate/creator payouts)
- Tax compliance (sales tax and corporate tax filing coordination with the CPA)
- Budgeting and financial planning (set and track annual and monthly budgets)
- Provide weekly and monthly financial reporting:
- Share the cash picture with leadership and flag cash risks or plan deviations when they show up
- Send the CEO a monthly finance report and review P&L vs budget with the CEO
- Manage subscriptions and cash conversion performance:
- Project subscriptions, subscription cohorts, and the cash conversion cycle
- Ensure projections hold up against actuals (track projections vs actuals)
- Oversee credit and capital strategy:
- Grow credit limits and lines
- Set up and run an asset-based lending facility to ensure the next two quarters of purchase orders are funded
- Own lender relationships and keep lenders confident with clean reporting
- Maintain financial controls and accounting readiness:
- Implement and manage two-person approvals on every payment
- Ensure monthly reconciliations for every account
- Keep books audit-ready
- Coordinate operational details for payments and compliance:
- Time supplier and PO payments according to the cash plan and identify the cash “trough”
- Ensure all payments and filings are correct and on time
Outcomes (Success Looks Like)
- Clear, accurate cash flow, subscription, and cash conversion cycle projections (projections vs actuals; cash never below the minimum balance)

- Fixed costs stay within budget (monthly fixed costs vs budget)
- Credit and capital are sufficient to fund growth (credit available vs cash needed for the next two quarters of purchase orders)
