Overview
This role owns the organization’s integrated financial narrative across customers, power, development, construction, financing, and operations. Responsibilities include shaping decision-making for capital allocation, translating complex infrastructure investments into clear implications for returns, cash, liquidity, capital requirements, and enterprise value.
The position also partners across Treasury, Accounting, Investor Relations, and FP&A to connect operational and project outlooks to financial reporting, liquidity, capital structure, and external communications. The role will build and lead an FP&A organization, along with the planning systems and modeling required to support substantially greater scale.
Responsibilities
Shape the Financial Narrative
- Own an integrated financial view connecting customers, power, development, construction, financing, and operations.
- Shape the narrative used by the CEO, CFO, and Board, including:
- where value is being created
- what is changing
- where risk is emerging
- what decisions matter most
- Translate a portfolio of complex infrastructure investments into implications for returns, cash, capital requirements, and enterprise value.
Drive Capital Allocation
- Build frameworks for deciding where, when, and how to deploy billions of dollars of capital across competing opportunities.
- Evaluate customer credit, power economics, construction risk, financing, capital intensity, COD timing, and strategic value—not simply IRR.
- Apply practical rigor to determine when a high-confidence answer is sufficient versus when deeper analysis is required.
Turn Uncertainty Into Decisions
- Build planning around the reality that customer requirements, project schedules, financing markets, power economics, and investment opportunities will continually change.
- Use scenarios and sensitivities to identify what actually drives outcomes, and translate changing assumptions into implications for cash, returns, liquidity, and enterprise value.
- Make recommendations with imperfect information, test against reality, and update decisions as facts change.
Operate Across the CFO Organization
- Partner with Treasury to connect the operating and project outlook to liquidity, financing requirements, debt capacity, and capital structure.
- Partner with Accounting to influence accounting judgments and policy across complex areas including project and construction accounting, capitalization, leases, revenue, JVs, and infrastructure assets.
- Partner with Investor Relations to translate operating performance, project economics, and long-term strategy into an external financial narrative.
- Coordinate these disciplines to avoid separate, disconnected information streams across FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, and Investor Relations.
Build the Financial Operating System
- Create integrated project, portfolio, P&L, balance-sheet, and cash-flow models to connect individual investments to enterprise-level outcomes.
- Build planning systems, data architecture, and decision frameworks to support company operation at substantially greater scale.
- Automate reporting where possible so the team can focus on interpreting information and influencing decisions.
Build a World-Class Team
- Build and lead an FP&A organization.
- Hire people with strong analytical horsepower, business judgment, and an ownership mentality to operate across detailed project economics and enterprise-level decisions.
- Set a high bar for performance, emphasizing intellectual honesty, speed, iteration, and accountability.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or MBA
- 15+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience

- Strong understanding of GAAP and how accounting results drive financial reporting
- Experience presenting to senior executives and boards
- Experience in a high-growth or private equity or venture-backed environment
