Overview
This role involves analyzing the financial health of borrowers and facilitating lending activities for a portfolio of clients. The Credit Analyst will assess borrower operating and financial information, prepare borrowing files, identify risks, and present findings. Collaboration with Portfolio Managers and other Credit Analysts is essential.
Responsibilities
- Analyze borrower financial condition, including real-time data aggregation, loan covenant compliance, trend analysis, and quality of reporting.
- Prepare and analyze recurring funding request documents using advanced Excel tools and loan system software.
- Update and analyze monthly financial workbooks, including data aggregation, mapping new data sources, roll forwards, accounts receivable aging, census reporting, and tracking collections and sales trends.
- Report findings indicating new or emerging risks that could adversely affect loan collateral or borrower repayment ability to Portfolio Managers.
- Ensure credit files are complete, identify documentation deficiencies, coordinate with Portfolio Operations and Legal to resolve issues, and manage borrower portfolio shared drive files.
- Maintain loan system data for portfolio borrowers, ensuring real-time updates to client service guides and data accuracy.
- Communicate with clients regarding monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Perform borrower-specific loan administration tasks as needed, including facilitating legal documentation, reviewing news feeds, lien searches, obtaining insurance certificates, and reviewing certificates of good standing.
- Conduct portfolio-wide administrative tasks such as updating loan systems with daily collections, advances, end-of-day closings, and portfolio reconciliation.
- Maintain strong knowledge of operating policies and procedures and identify potential exceptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance, accounting, or related business fields.
- 1–2 years of prior experience with loan administration preferred but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and macros.
- Self-motivated with the ability to produce high-quality, timely results independently.
- Adaptable with strong multi-tasking skills and ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Organized and detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and following through on corrective actions.
