Overview

This role supports the organization’s tax function with a focus on international tax compliance and provision work. You will own the foreign subsidiary tax provision and U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471 and 8858, Subpart F, GILTI, FDDEI, and BEAT, and you will also support international compliance across the Americas region (direct tax), including Canada and Mexico.

This is a new role that splits the U.S. quarterly close between domestic and international workstreams, so international provision and compliance runs alongside domestic return preparation to help accelerate time to file.

Responsibilities

  • Own the international portion of the quarterly U.S. close, including the foreign subsidiary tax provision, in partnership with the domestic provision and compliance team.
  • Lead U.S. international tax return compliance, including Forms 5471 and 8858, Subpart F, GILTI, FDDEI, and BEAT calculations.
  • Coordinate with outside tax advisors on Forms 5471 and 8858 and other international technical work to keep international compliance progressing alongside domestic return preparation and shorten time to file.
  • Support Americas regional direct tax compliance, including Canada and Mexico: coordinate data gathering, review local corporate income tax filings and statutory reporting prepared by external advisors, and track filing deadlines.
  • Partner with the Senior Tax Manager and the domestic provision and compliance manager to deliver a combined provision and tax return, including provision-to-return true-ups.
  • Lead special projects, including FDDEI analysis, BEAT modeling, transfer pricing coordination, automation, and international tax planning.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for transfer pricing by coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders on intercompany arrangements, documentation, and year-end adjustments (with high-level oversight from Tax leadership).
  • Research and document international tax technical positions and communicate recommendations clearly to the Senior Tax Manager, VP of Tax, and finance partners.
  • Gather and review foreign subsidiary financial and tax data from Accounting and Finance teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of inputs to the provision and returns.
  • Support tax audits and notices related to international matters: gather documentation, prepare workpapers, and coordinate responses with advisors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, documentation, and workflows, and drive automation of international provision and compliance processes.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors on research, compliance, and special projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of U.S. international tax experience in public accounting, in-house at a company, or a combination of both.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471 and 8858, Subpart F, and GILTI.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740 as it applies to foreign subsidiaries, including quarterly and annual provision.
  • Experience working with outside tax advisors.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, with the ability to work with large data sets and build tax models.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax concepts to non-tax business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 experience in a tax compliance or return preparation team.
  • CPA license.
  • Experience with FDDEI and BEAT calculations and modeling.
  • Experience with international tax planning and structuring.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing, including documentation and intercompany agreements.
  • Exposure to Canadian and Mexican direct (corporate income) tax compliance requirements.
  • Experience with tax provision and compliance software.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, or IoT hardware companies.
  • Interest in using automation and AI tools to improve tax processes.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $99,067 USD - $133,200 USD.
  • Eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions.
  • Performance-based bonus/variable pay and equity (for eligible roles).
  • Flexible, employee-led remote model.
  • Professional development stipend.
  • Comprehensive health and parental leave plans.
