Location: Rochester, NY or Denver, CO. Hybrid or remote.

Responsibilities

Banking Transition (Initial Focus)

Support and manage the transition of several hundred corporate and property-level bank accounts to a new primary bank. Work will be front-loaded in the first few months to coordinate the transition requirements, including that an account cannot close until all payment and deposit activity has been redirected, outstanding checks have cleared or been voided, and the account has been reconciled.

Key activities include:

  • Build a validated inventory of accounts by entity, property, purpose, signer, and associated cash flows, and create a wave-sequenced transition plan with cutover dates.
  • Open accounts at the new bank, complete bank paperwork, signer authorizations, and system access; close legacy accounts only after activity has cleared.
  • Transition agency subsidy and housing assistance payments that move on the agencies’ timelines and require early start.
  • Redirect remaining cash flows, including resident payment channels, lockbox, mortgage and servicer debits, payroll and benefits funding, tax and escrow payments, and recurring vendor debits.
  • Monitor outstanding checks and recurring payments during the transition in partnership with AP.
  • Re-establish payment controls and bank connectivity, including positive pay, ACH filters, wire templates, user access, and statement/file feeds required by accounting systems.
  • Coordinate lender and legal requirements, including deposit account control agreements and security deposit account structures with state-specific rules.
  • Maintain the transition tracker and manage stakeholder communication (project tracking support is available).
  • Ensure wire payments are not processed unless the vendor is properly set up and approved in the ERP system.

Daily treasury operations continue throughout the transition, so this role must manage both large-scale project execution and day-to-day cash responsibilities.

Daily Treasury Operations

  • Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity across corporate entities and the property portfolio.
  • Continuously enhance cash management workbooks to support accurate cash tracking, processing, and reporting.
  • Execute and oversee wire, ACH, and check workflows within approval limits.
  • Manage cash transfers, funding requests, and intercompany/advance activity.
  • Own bank account administration, including signers, user access, and portal setup.
  • Monitor restricted cash, reserves, and escrows; reconcile banking activity; manage banking relationships.

Treasury Accounting Partnership

  • Partner with Corporate Accounting on cash entries, intercompany and advance activity, management fee cash flows, payroll funding, and billbacks.
  • Ensure both sides of cash transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • Ensure bank reconciliations tie without carryover items.

Controls

  • Maintain segregation of duties, especially between cash movement and those who prepare/review bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain treasury policies covering payment approvals, wire/ACH controls, positive pay, and bank access reviews.
  • Support audit requests and improve control documentation.

Systems Transformation

  • Help design future-state treasury workflows across NetSuite, Elise, Rippling, Avid, and new banking platforms.
  • Reduce manual workarounds, enable automated entries and integrations, and build toward a single source of truth for cash reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Begin by working alongside the existing treasury team without disrupting operations.
  • Assess responsibilities, staffing, onshore/offshore capacity, and process gaps; recommend structural changes.
  • Over time, provide oversight of the treasury accounting team and related security deposit banking activity.

Partnership with FP&A

  • Provide cash and banking data that supports cash forecasting, liquidity visibility, and debt reporting.
  • Report regularly to the Director of Corporate Finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, plus five or more years of hands-on treasury, banking, or cash management experience. Prior manager title is not required; a strong senior analyst ready to step into a management seat will be considered.
  • Direct experience with a bank transition, account migration, or comparable conversion is required.
  • Multi-entity experience and a solid command of banking operations, payment controls, and bank reconciliation. Real estate or property management experience preferred.
  • Comfortable in an environment where systems and processes are still being built—this role will build structure rather than inherit it.
  • Ability to switch between planning and detailed execution and communicate clearly across Accounting, FP&A, and Operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, online banking platforms, and treasury management tools preferred. CTP designation is a plus, not a requirement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $115,000.00 - $120,000.00
