Overview

This role involves serving as a Certified Investment Due Diligence Analyst within a private capital ecosystem that connects fund managers, investors, operators, and finance professionals. Analysts operate as independent contractors and support live transactions by providing due diligence, risk assessment, and investment readiness analysis.

Responsibilities

As an Investment Due Diligence Analyst, duties include:

  • Commercial Due Diligence: Market sizing, segmentation, competitive landscape analysis, customer and channel diligence, growth driver and risk assessment, industry trend analysis, and thesis validation.
  • Operational Due Diligence: Reviewing operational KPIs, benchmarking, assessing management quality and organizational structure, identifying operational risks, and evaluating processes and systems.
  • Financial Due Diligence: Supporting Quality of Earnings (QoE) reviews, revenue recognition, margin and cost structure analysis, working capital analysis, forecast validation, and variance analysis.
  • Investment Support: Drafting investment memos, creating risk registers, reviewing data rooms, tracking diligence, and preparing summary reports for investors and sponsors.
  • Supporting Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial statements, conducting sensitivity and scenario analyses, and supporting valuation and modeling teams (subject to approval).

Analysts perform work only in categories for which they have received approval, which is granted based on assessment and performance.

Requirements

To qualify for certification, candidates must meet at least one of the following:

  • Achieve a score of 70% or higher in at least one category of the Analyst Certification Assessment.
  • Complete approved financial training.
  • Hold an active professional credential such as CFA, CPA, Series 7, 63, 79, or an equivalent.

Analyst Levels and Compensation

Analyst levels are determined by an Analyst Rating Score (0–100), which affects visibility, approved work categories, and hourly rates.

  • Senior Analyst

    • Rating Score: 90–100
    • Pay: $150–$200/hour
    • Typical Background: Professionals with 5+ years in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, senior consulting, or development.
  • Lead Analyst

    • Rating Score: 80–89
    • Pay: $100–$150/hour
    • Typical Background: Finance professionals with 3–5 years of deal or modeling experience.
  • Analyst / Associate Analyst

    • Rating Score: 60–79
    • Pay: $50–$100/hour
    • Typical Background: Entry to mid-level analysts with strong technical skills.

Analysts may also earn up to 10% of the first $100,000 in transaction fees, with a maximum deal-based earning of $2,500 per transaction. Payments are made only after successful deal completion and fee collection.

  • Certification and verification are required before beginning paid work.
  • No cold applications or unpaid experience; verified analysts are actively promoted to investors and deal sponsors.
