Overview
This role is an enterprise-focused advisory and business-development position responsible for building a new-market book of business. The position is not intended to rely on an inherited book of clients, a mature branch referral ecosystem, or an established local investment-services presence.
Responsibilities
- Receive and manage investment-related calls and referrals routed through the Member Service Contact Center (MSCC), assess member needs, and either provide direct service or coordinate the appropriate advisor appointment.
- Handle inbound member calls and investment-service line opportunities, providing direct service when appropriate and facilitating the next step.
- Conduct scheduled phone and Zoom consultations initiated through appointment channels and digital appointment requests.
- Support member consultations originating from walk-in traffic, employee referrals, locally generated advisor appointments, and other branch-originated opportunities within the assigned branch.
- Serve as a centralized advisor by conducting scheduled investment consultations with members throughout California through phone, Zoom, and approved virtual channels.
- Manage inbound call queues and routed opportunities in a timely and organized manner, including monitoring assigned queues, prioritizing member needs, responding within established service expectations, documenting outcomes, and coordinating follow-up or advisor handoffs.

- Proactively contact assigned prospect lists to identify member needs, develop new relationships, and create qualified investment opportunities.
- Build a book of business from inception by developing new relationships through enterprise-generated opportunities, assigned prospecting activity, statewide member demand, local market development, community engagement, and approved business-development efforts.
- Build awareness of investment services in the assigned branch’s market by developing local visibility, strengthening branch, community, and business-development relationships, and supporting approved outreach efforts.
- Cultivate new member relationships in Southern California by identifying financial needs, introducing investment-services capabilities, and creating appropriate paths for ongoing advisory engagement.
- Participate in approved financial education, member engagement, community outreach, prospecting, and business-development activities that support member awareness, relationship growth, market expansion, and the development of new advisory opportunities.
- Help establish a sustainable investment-services presence in Southern California by developing referral sources, supporting local market relationships, cultivating community and business-development connections, and contributing to long-term business-development plans.
- Develop relationship pipelines in a new market environment without an inherited client base, mature branch-based referral network, established investment-services presence, or existing production base.
- Coordinate warm handoffs when a member prefers an in-person appointment and another advisor is better positioned geographically to serve the member.
- Maintain accurate member-client information and required records in a compliant and timely manner, including CRM notes, appointment outcomes, referral disposition, follow-up tasks, pipeline activity, and required documentation.
- Complete required activity reports, business plans, business-plan reviews, compliance documentation, and other assigned reporting on time.
- Maintain current knowledge of investment and insurance products offered through the broker-dealer and applicable state and federal requirements, including Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering obligations.
- Answer general questions regarding investment and Credit Union products and services and provide appropriate cross-referrals to other channels.
- Collaborate with Investment Services, Investment Administration, MSCC, branch teams, Member Education, Compliance, the broker-dealer, and other internal partners to improve referral quality, appointment routing, and the member experience.
