Junior Accountant - Remote within Central and Eastern time zones

Overview

This role is on the revenue/cash team within a medical services organization that delivers care in a clinic setting. The position is responsible for calculating, analyzing, tracking/reporting, and recording revenue and AR/cash activity.

If you are located within only Central and Eastern time zones, you may have the flexibility to work remotely*.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
• Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close
• Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, investigating issues and providing explanations/interpretations
• Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
• Assist with or lead the month-end and quarterly close process for assigned businesses or groups
• Perform work in a self-directed manner and handle less structured, more complex issues
• Serve as a resource to others

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• 1+ years of professional accounting experience
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
• Ability to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Ability to solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
• Live within Central or Eastern Time Zones

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $60,200 - $107,400 annually (based on full-time employment)
• Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc.
