Junior Accountant - Remote within Central and Eastern time zones

Overview

This role is part of a healthcare delivery team providing medical services in a clinic setting. The position focuses on revenue and cash management, including calculating, analyzing, tracking, reporting, and recording revenue and accounts receivable/cash activity. The role offers remote work flexibility for candidates located within the Central and Eastern time zones.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports
• Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month-end close
• Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Prepare documentation to support external and internal audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis; investigate issues and provide explanations and interpretations
• Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
• Assist with or lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for assigned businesses or groups
• Work independently on less structured, more complex issues
• Serve as a resource to other team members

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of professional accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
• Proven problem-solving skills for moderately complex issues and analyses
• Must reside within the Central or Eastern Time Zones
• Compliance with the organization's Telecommuter Policy for remote employees

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $60,200 - $107,400 annually (based on full-time employment and factors such as local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications)
