Overview

This role supports a growing NetSuite practice and works closely with the organization’s Private Equity focus. You’ll serve as a trusted partner to private equity–backed portfolio companies, delivering tailored integrated solutions and advising on accounting, finance, operations, and NetSuite strategy. The Associate Director role combines client delivery, team leadership, mentorship, and participation in business development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve clients across the “Office of the CFO” at private equity portfolio companies specializing in Software and Technology by evaluating current practices and providing recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting, finance, and operations functions.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on inventory management strategies, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Act as a NetSuite Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing strategic guidance to project teams and clients.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including NetSuite consultants, Private Equity consultants, and client stakeholders, to achieve project goals.
  • Help portfolio companies operationalize US-GAAP compliant accounting policies and best-in-class month-end close procedures.
  • Design, implement, and optimize standard NetSuite solutions to help management teams better understand product-level profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio company representatives and Private Equity sponsors; collaborate with internal teams to scope, clarify, and deliver excellent client service.
  • Participate in business development opportunities by marketing a full range of services to prospective clients and using existing relationships to generate new opportunities.
  • Mentor team members by coaching colleagues, providing regular ongoing feedback, and conducting annual performance reviews; help project teams resolve multi-faceted issues.
  • Regularly meet with team members to prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and assess whether additional resources are needed.
  • Guide customers through change management, providing resources and strategies to support a smooth transition.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience leading and managing NetSuite implementations, NetSuite assessments, and NetSuite-related roadmaps, delivering to middle-market Private Equity Sponsors and their portfolio companies.
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage multiple projects, schedules, and tasks concurrently to ensure timely delivery and optimal results.
  • Experience producing financial management reports across key metrics including ARR, bookings, and headcount, comparing current actual and year-to-date performance with prior year results, forecasts, and budgeted results.
  • Extensive end-to-end implementation experience within NetSuite standard and advanced ARM module and Suitebilling, including revenue allocation and fair value.
  • Thorough understanding of NetSuite subscriptions, billing accounts, invoicing processes, and Pricebook.
  • Data migration experience (Billing Account, Price Plan, Subscription Plan, Price Book, Subscription Event Revenue Recognition).
  • Familiarity with other billing solutions such as Zone Billing.
  • Strong experience strategizing integrations between NetSuite and other business application systems and data warehouse.
  • Software / SaaS industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success building and developing strong client relationships.
  • Experience collaborating with Controller groups and accounting teams, including fluent knowledge of the main elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior team members and supporting resolution of multi-faceted project issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or related area of study from an accredited university.
  • 9+ years’ experience in professional services.
  • NetSuite Suite Foundation, Administrator, or ERP Consultant Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
