Patient Billing Associate

Overview

A molecular diagnostics company is seeking a Patient Billing Associate to support account growth, retention, and revenue through daily customer interactions. This remote role involves working closely with clinics, medical staff, and patients to resolve billing and insurance inquiries while providing a positive customer experience. The position reports to the Associate Director of Inside Sales.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers proactively and courteously to resolve issues impacting account growth or retention
• Respond effectively to communications via phone, email, and web inquiries from physician offices, field sales representatives, and patients
• Address inquiries related to technology, products, services, costs, billing, and insurance coverage
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all communications and follow-up activities
• Contact patients through outbound calls and SMS to explain potential costs and address billing concerns
• Reach out to physicians and medical personnel to obtain missing information relevant to reimbursement
• Manage a queue of customers requiring contact and follow through on scheduled contact cadence until resolution
• Handle 20-30 inbound calls and 40-50 outbound calls daily

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of client-facing experience
• Background in Inside Sales or Customer Service within a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred
• Experience using Salesforce CRM
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
• Quick learner capable of navigating complex workflows and technology
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to tailor communication to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish

• Total compensation package of $115,300 per year (at plan), including a base salary of $53,592 per year
