Payroll Specialist

Overview

The organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support a client’s payroll operations on a full-time basis.

This role involves end-to-end Canadian payroll processing using Ceridian Dayforce, with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance from day one.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for Canadian employees using Ceridian Dayforce.
• Review and validate employee time records, including hours worked, overtime, and other payroll inputs.
• Calculate and process wages, deductions, statutory contributions, and other payroll adjustments in accordance with applicable Canadian payroll regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in line with established schedules and deadlines.
• Review payroll data for discrepancies and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian employment standards, payroll legislation, and tax requirements.
• Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to address payroll concerns and maintain smooth payroll operations.
• Manage payroll responsibilities independently to support a seamless transition with minimal training.

Requirements

• Proven experience processing Canadian payroll.
• Hands-on experience using Ceridian Dayforce to process payroll directly (not limited to timesheet entry or timekeeping functions).
• Strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations, statutory deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage payroll processes accurately and meet strict deadlines.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and training.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information professionally.
• Availability to start as soon as possible is strongly preferred.
