PEPI: Senior Director, CFO Services - Digital Finance (OPEN TO ALL US LOCATIONS)

Overview

This role supports private equity portfolio companies through performance improvement and value-preservation initiatives, with an emphasis on improving transparency into key drivers and business performance. The organization provides solutions designed to help increase cash and EBITDA through hands-on involvement in clients’ operations, including support for PE firms to ensure portfolio companies have credible plans and the ability to execute financial outcomes.

Services Area (Digital Finance)

Work will align with the organization’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) CFO Services practice, including:

• Strategic Analytics & Planning
• Performance Measurement & Management
• Business Transformation
• Auxiliary Services: Accounting Remediation

Responsibilities

• Facilitate information gathering with clients to support project execution
• Lead and facilitate client interviews and ensure relevant data are collected and pursued
• Define the analyses needed to prove or disprove assumptions, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely execution
• Apply industry and functional knowledge to identify business drivers and issues
• Understand and develop frameworks based on project parameters
• Produce actionable conclusions from analyses

Project Management & Implementation

• Lead components of projects involving multiple service lines and lead smaller projects independently
• Proactively manage client expectations, anticipate risks and obstacles early, and minimize risks and negative impacts
• Develop straightforward, actionable plans and lead individual workstreams independently
• Design cash-generating initiatives, EBITDA improvements, and optimal organizational structures to drive client value
• Communicate contingency plans timely with the client
• Engage collaboratively with senior management; obtain buy-in from senior management/board members for actionable plans

Leadership & Team Management

• Leverage industry expertise and prior professional services experience to guide teams and promote innovative and analytical thinking
• Manage client relationships throughout the project duration
• Take accountability for client and team issues
• Build complementary teams using individuals’ talents and capabilities

Financial Acumen & Controllership/Advisory

• Complete proficiency in financial modeling, financial statements analysis, and accounting treatments
• Identify and drive P&L and B/S accountability
• Use tools and resources to drive change management
• Interpret financial statements and understand how information is captured and used to streamline processes
• Experience in the role of Controllership, Finance and Accounting Advisory Services

Requirements

• Digital finance transformation expertise with proven implementation experience
• Proven track record assessing finance and accounting functions and implementing digital technologies to improve efficiency and transparency, including:
  • RPA
  • Finance analytics
  • NLG
  • Predictive forecasting models
• Finance & accounting process improvement expertise and process automation
• Knowledge of digital finance tools and vendors
• Expertise implementing digital tools for finance in large public corporations or mid-size PE-owned portfolio companies
• Expertise building predictive forecasting models
• Graduate of an accredited 4-year college/university with educational concentration in relevant areas (accounting, finance, economics) preferred but not required
• Over 12 years of experience related to:
  • Accounting/Finance
  • Financial due diligence
  • Restructuring
  • Investment Banking or Private Equity
• Complete proficiency in understanding financial models, data analytics, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CFA, MBA, or Master’s Degree preferred but not required
• Experience in digital finance technologies, including:
  • RPA
  • Predictive forecasting
  • Finance analytics
  • NLG
  • Data visualization
