Portfolio Accounting Clerk

Overview

This role involves working within the Accounting & Finance Department focusing on essential Loan Servicing tasks. The position requires strong Excel skills and the ability to utilize various tools and systems in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The role offers an opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of the financial industry while supporting loan transaction processing and reconciliation activities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process loan transactions in servicing and banking systems
• Research and identify discrepancies in loan activity
• Coordinate with various departments to resolve discrepancies
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Assist in creating accruals as part of the month-end closing process
• Support audit processes as needed
• Participate in special projects as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Loan Operations or Loan Servicing, including processing loan payments
• Proven experience with reconciliations
• Strong Excel skills required
• Experience with accounting software preferred (Workday experience a plus)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
